Ski Trip 2011

Our first bear sighting during the trip.  What a way to start the trip off.  A huge brown bear.  These boys definetely won't want to continue now.

Getting some advice

Parker's first day of ski school.  Already looks like a little pro.  As you can see, he is a little bored and ready to get moving.  His favorite thing is to just point his ski's and go.  Scares me to death, but he knows how to stop (just lean to the side and soon the snow will stop him).

Our home for a few days

Visiting Connor at ski school during their lunch break.  Glad to see all smiles!

What a sight

The kings of the castle

Excited to go check out the ice castle!

Our view from the gondola of the village down in Keystone.

Time to get a good pic, boys can't run from me in the Gondola :)

As you can see, the picture taking doesn't last long before Parker starts telling me no more pictures, no more pictures

My lil ski bums

It starts with a nap in the car before dinner

This is after the ride home from dinner.  Needless to say he is pooped.  Glad it's the last day.

Connor's first fieldtrip

2/16/11 Connor went on his first field trip to the Philbrook Museum.  The museum is the Phillips family's home (aka Phillips gas, Phillips 66).  He really enjoyed the visit.  Besides all the you can't touch this and the lower your voices, they found it pretty interesting.  His favorite part was seeing the dance floor in the ballroom that lights up and the mummy.  All the boys loved seeing the mummy.

Connor and his buds, Ali and Andy.  Doing their best statue.  They look so real.

Funny mummy's

Still having fun and Max decided to join the group.

Snow you can't keep us in!

No snow, you can't keep us in.  The record breaking blizzard of 2011 couldn't keep us locked up in doors.  We had to explore.  First day we decided to get out and the wind and temps were so low we didn't last long at all.  It was ridiculously cold and our ski gear wasn't even keep us warm.  We made it down the hill a couple of times and got a few pics.  That was about all we could take and we headed home for hot chocolate.

First day of the blizzard.  FREEZING!  Look hard and you will see the snow coming down.

Tubing Hill

A few days later we had more snow, which looked even more enticing and fun to play in.  We decided to venture off a little farther and drove to a super cool hill behind Lowe's.  That was a blast.  We took our air tubes that I searched high and low for and finally found.  Those things can fly.  We had a blast.  Parker went maybe 4 times the whole week, but Connor and Stephen went a ton.  I went a couple times myself but after a good spill after accidentally going over the ramp, I took it easy.

Stephen wiped out as well.  Big guys fall even harder ;).

Parker taking a break in the car to warm up.

We finally built a snowman a few days before the snow started to melt.  He was big.  Poor thing didn't last long though.  Each morning Parker would let us know which part he had lost.

Snow at the backdoor, didn't stop us.

  Snow fun

We also ventured out and went to Target and eat at a couple of restaurants.  Being home was fun for a little while, but it can get real old real quick.  The boys enjoyed the snow and can't wait for it to come again next year.  I just hope we don't get as much.  Connor being out of school for a 2 weeks can create a bit of a predicament for the school system and those involved.  Guess we will see what 2012 has in store for us.
